Event registration

This release has many improvements for iPart-based event registrations, especially usability, invoicing, and confirmations.

■    Proceed to Checkout button CartCheckoutButtonLink is a new iPart to help guide your shoppers and registrants to the checkout page after they have added items to their cart. You can configure the iPart to appear whenever there is any item in the cart, or you can limit it to appear only when the event being viewed has a registration ready for purchase. This reminds registrants that their itineraries are only pending until they complete payment.

■    Improved Events usability – Event function registration no longer incurs a full-page postback. Combined with a change in the Event Program Display that preserves panels in their collapsed or expanded state across postbacks, this change creates a better registration experience.

■    Finding and adding new contacts – When you register someone else for an event, the window used to find a contact has been enhanced. You can now add new contacts, and the window now uses a common mechanism for finding and adding contacts.

■    Registration maximums – Event Display honors the event and function registration maximums defined in Desktop for web-enabled events. Once a maximum is reached, the Event Display disables the registration links and prevents any pending selections from being submitted.

Registration confirmations

■    Order confirmations Event details – Order confirmations now show details for events, including the start and end date and time, facility name and location, and which additional program items (functions) were purchased. Zero-cost functions also appear, along with the dates and times of those functions. Event confirmations include every function for which there is an order line, regardless of its amount.

■    Organization letterhead – A new letterhead appears at the top of all order confirmations, displaying the organization name and an address line.

■    Printable version of confirmation – When the confirmation displays in a popup window, a Printable version link opens the confirmation in a new window, formatted for printing and mailing.
